and Religious Studies

Teaching of Punjabi is a unique part of curriculum being followed in TSIS. The Sikh community living in Bangkok is doing a truly religious service by encouraging their children to learn Punjabi language and culture so that the parental heritage remains persistent through generations. To emphasize the importance of learning of Punjabi, this subject becomes an integral part of education to students at all levels to prepare them up to the GCE 'O' level examinations. Students are encouraged to sing Panjabi songs also. They take special interest in the Punjabi folk dances such as Gidha by girls and Bangra by the Boys. These programmes become a special part of any cultural presentation that is made during the visit of any dignitary to the school. |
