Curriculum

Physical Education is the area of learning in which students develop skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable the pursuit of an active, healthy lifestyle, contributing to the individual’s emotional, mental, physical and social well being. It aims at developing overall personality of each child & strong body possesses a strong mind and vice versa.

Physical Education at Elementary level, aims at developing correct motor movements such as running, jumping, hopping, skipping, throwing, catching and hitting. More emphasis is laid on movement co-ordination of the motor and sense organs. Special care is taken to maintain and improve the correct posture while doing various physical activities such as sitting, walking, lifting etc.

 At Secondary level, variety of athletic activities are exposed under the care of specialized physical education teachers such as swimming, athletics, gymnastics and ball games in order to develop interest, habits and correct fundamental techniques of games. Physical education develops the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable children to engage in a broad range of activities and aims to maintain this enthusiasm throughout their school years and onward to lifetime of activity.

TSIS Physical Education is developed in accordance with U.K. National Curriculum.  

Objective 

    The department maintains Physical Fitness Index of every student in which health, fitness and athletic profile of all students are evaluated, periodically.

     The department organizes effective ECA program, where a healthy competitive atmosphere is created. We make sure that maximum students take part in different games and Inter–House Competitions. We provide skill coaching to all houses separately before the Inter-House competition.

    The department organizes rhythmic Mass demonstration (PT) in combination with music and callisthenic exercises. Later, competitions are organized House wise for the same.

      Throw Ball – Girls (Senior and Junior)

      Volleyball – Boys & Girls (Senior and Junior)

      Athletics - Boys & Girls (Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior)

      Swimming - Boys & Girls (Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior)

      Handball - Girls (Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior)

Details

All the competitions are played as per the schedule. Calendar is fixed bi-annually and distributed to all the HOUSE MASTERS and HOUSE MISTRESSES in advance. Winners get 4 points, runners up get 3 points, third position holder gets 2 points and fourth position holder gets 1 point in classification. The best athlete and Most Valuable player is chosen from each event and awarded accordingly. Competition is played as per the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION RULES. Referee’s decision is considered as THE FINAL decision.

Senior Boys – Class 8 to 10

Junior Boys - Class 5 to 7

Rules

Competition is conducted on League basis. Winner of each match is awarded 2 points. In the end of the league team with the maximum point is declared as winner. In case of Tie goal average is taken into consideration.

Inter House Basketball Competition

Senior Boys & Senior Girls – Class 8 to 10

Junior Boys & Junior Girls - Class 5 to 7

Sub-Junior Boys & Sub-Junior Girls - Class 3 to 4
